Take a Rest!

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Matthew 11:28-29

It has been a while, but you already know — even when you do not hear from me, I am thinking of you.

This past weekend, I was not feeling my best. It was one of those times when I just wanted to stay home and not deal with anyone — and I did not, except for my husband and my dog (and even that was minimal). While I was resting, I started to think about how many of us go through things and keep them bottled up until we find ourselves in a dark place. I can honestly say I was there… BUT GOD!

That made me stop and ask myself — why do we do that? I have to be honest, we should not share everything that is going on in our lives with everyone, but holding things in and suppressing what we feel is not healthy either. I have shared before about the importance of letting go and letting God, and that is something the Lord continues to teach me every day.

My dad used to always say, “We are not made of bolts and nuts, but flesh and blood.” What he meant was that we are not machines. Sometimes, we have to rest and reset — and that is exactly what I want to remind you of today.

We are not superheroes, even though we often act like we are. We have to know when to let go, stop carrying so much, and allow the Lord to help us. I am a living testimony that God can and He will!

Someone once told me, “Even the encourager needs encouragement.” And that could not be more true — not just for me, but for you too. Always remember that you are loved and that the Lord has you. He will place the right people in your path at the right time. But more importantly, the Lord wants a real relationship with you — not just when you need something, but so that you can walk closely with Him and dwell in His presence every single day.

Never forget — do not trust people more than God. He is the source, and everything else is simply a resource He uses to carry out His plan for your life.

Please share this blog with your family and friends. If you would like to send a message, feel free to text me—I would love to hear from you! Continue to MAKE it a GREAT day :)

Love ya! 💛
